Welcome to The Play Cafe at Sandown Park. We hope you and your little ones enjoy being here as much as we do!
The Play Cafe isn’t just about your little ones! As a family with young boys, we wanted to create a fresh and modern space which appeals to us Mums, Dads and Carers too!
We know your little one won’t notice the ice cream colour palette or chairs but we do know a modern soft play needs to be a balance between kiddie and adult friendly! More importantly we have plenty of coffee! There is never enough caffeine in our day! Plus a delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch menu! The Play Cafe into so much more than a soft play with events and workshops to help support us parents weather the parenting storm.
We are open for 4 play sessions a day at set times, allowing us to clean the area, disinfect the toys and reset for the next session. On Friday afternoons, we have our most popular slots ‘Fizz Fridays’ with a free glass of Prosecco with every £6.50 entry (one per £6.50 entry). Prebooking is advised to avoid disappointment. Drop ins are accepted when we have space!

Your guide to the Spring clock change
On Sunday 31st March 2024 our clocks spring forward by an hourat 2am. This means your little one will be 'sleeping in', but also they won't be ready for bedtime at their normal time.
Here are tips on how to adjust to the new time:
1. Do Nothing
Simply jump into the new time, with a wake, nap and bedtime that will be one hour later. This is a great option if you have an early riser!
2.Gradually adjust bedtime
If you have a younger baby who is sensitive to change and you want to keep on the same schedule you can move their routine by 15 minutes earlier starting on Wednesday night or 30 minutes earlier from Friday night. Don't forget to move their wake time and naps as well
.3.Lots of light
Sunlight helps regulate sleep-wake cycles. Spend time outdoors with your baby during the day, especially in the morning, to help them adjust to the new time more easily. Both the mornings and evenings will be lighter so it may be worth buying a black our blind to help your little one sleep.
4. Adjust meal times
Don't forget to shift feeds and solids, as mealtimes influence adjustment of the circadian rhythm as well.
5. Do your best
Remember it will take some time for your baby/toddler (and you) to adjust to the time change, so if you have some off days and nights, try not to worry, you'll find your way back to your routine.
Above all, I hope you can enjoy the lighter mornings and evenings that Spring will bring as well as the warmer weather. If you need support, don't hesitate to reach out, my contact details are below.
To address concerns regarding your child's sleep or gain a better understanding of my approach, feel free to schedule a complimentary 15 minute discovery call through my website or reach out to me via email at gemma@themindfulsleepcoach.com.
